Usually, family ownership helps run successful newspapers, often by protecting them from market forces uninformed short-term viewpoints with no soul. Usually. Breaking up Tribune's local TV and newspaper assets seems dumb. I'm no fan of the "value-add" of local station affiliates, but I do like in-market scale (cross-media local media). What say you, Barry?
