The Journal has been rumoring that Google is looking at YouTube. Well, that would turn 'em into a real media company (you know, the kind that holds onto its audience rather than driving it off). Google could figure out how to sell some YouTube ads, I bet.

But why does YouTube need to be bought to do that? The answer is, it doesn't. They could just rent Google's network, like MySpace does. Contrary to some analysts who seem to have forgotten the DMCA, I think YouTube has a bright future, independent or otherwise.
