That quote's from the must-read New York magazine profile on should Katie Couric have gone to the six o'clock evening news. I've been defending her -- if not the CBS Evening News -- but after that stolen column gaffe, now she's quoted saying things like this:
“I mean, of course. I’m human. I’m not going around, ‘Dee-da dee-da dee,’” she says. “I have days when I’m like, ‘Oh my God, what did I do?’”
“I’ve gone through a bit of a feeding frenzy and there’s blood in the water and I’ve got some vulnerabilities,” she says. “This person who’s been successful isn’t so great, and finally she’s been put in her place—that kind of mentality. I think it’s fairly primal.”
Jeez, doesn't she get paid to be articulate? And then there's the sputum incident...
