Tungsten T2

What do you do when you already have created one of the most elegant PDAs in the world? Why you make it better. Today, Palm introduced the new Tungsten T2 and it takes an already great PDA and improves on it in a number of ways. First, it now uses the improves screen found on the Tungsten C and Zire series, clear, bright and colorful. Add an OS upgrade and boost the memory to 32mb and add some of the core applications into ROM and you have a rarity, a sequel that is better than the original.

One of the best things about the T2 is that it embodies the core philosophy of a mobile two piece solution. With excellent Bluetooth integration a useful web browser and e-mail client, the T2 is perfectly paired with a lightweight Bluetooth phone like the Sony Ericsson t610. But more importantly, the T2 is actually a pocket sized device that can be carried ubiquitously (without the need to get tossed into a briefcase or purse).

What’s missing? Palm OS still multitasks poorly and there’s a few applications that I have on my PocketPC (such as an RSS aggregator) that I would like to see available on the Palm platform. However, the combination of size, features, connectivity, applications and performance all add up to a PDA that is greater than the sum of its parts and the T2 is just about the ideal PDA for many users.
