Multimedia Luddite?

Actually, research shows that lots of folks feel like this. But things start to change when the computer is the hub for connectivity and not the viewing portal. For example 51% of consumers are interested in using the PC to record and store TV programs... as long as they can view the content on their TV sets. Closing the loop with the ability to stream content from the PC to other devices and take it on the road as well is the key to digital ubiquity going forward. Of course, that's going to take a lot of effort so that the experience with DRM isn't a nightmare for consumers and that content is still protected.

I was just IM'ing with someone who will go unnamed here, but this developer won't watch the Channel9 videos, the VB at the movies, and won't listen to Carl Franklin's .NET show. Why? Can't see using the computer for audio/video content. Won't even connect a pair of speakers to the development machine. Man, I can't imagine not using the computer for multimedia. Anyone willing to go on the record and admit that they won't watch multimedia content on their PC
