Knowing limitations

<< I'd have to disagree with Cory Doctrow's position on DRM | Main | There's a reason they call it beta software >>

Somewhat related to my last post. Everyone's got opinions. On everything. Of course, freedom of speech allows anyone to express them and that's a good thing. But expertise in one domain does not translate to expertise in another and the value of an opinion needs to be weighed carefully against what the subject is and who's speaking at the time.

I rarely listen when actors or singers discuss politics. Or technologists discuss religion or when politicians talk technology. Clint Eastwood in Magnum Force, said it best... "a man's got know his limitations". I find when folks get too afar of their expertise, i lose interest and un-subscribe. But I may be wrong here... what's your opinion?

Don't you laugh when a literary nobodyand venture capitalist uses a word like "stupid" to describe a science fiction giant like Ray Bradbury.
