Some responses to my convention bloggers post<< More thoughts on Mobile Video | Main | Portable Media Center - First Impressions >> Michael Gartenberg | July 29, 2004, 05:34 PM Got some rather grumpy responses to my post about the convention bloggers. Rather than reply individually, I decided to respond here. 1. I'm really not jealous of those who are there. Having watched some parts of this over the last few nights, given the choice of root canal work or being at the convention, I'd choose the convention but it would be close. Frankly, I'm a technology analyst. I'm not sure anyone wants my political insights (if you do, let me know and we can talk about it over coffee or dinner). Granted, it's cool to be among the first to be part of this event. It's boring for the rest of us to keep hearing how cool it is though. 2. The hardblogger site IS a weblog. Just because Chris Matthews runs it doesn't mean it's not legit. Or does one have to be an amateur in what they write about to be a blogger these days? If so, someone tell Robert Scoble to stop writing. 3. To the kind soul who asked why Dee Dee Myers had better ethos for political commentary than they did, I think it was that little gig she did as White House press secretary for Bill Clinton. That and the fact that she's consults for the writers of the West Wing :) 4. And last but not least, thank you to the gentle reader who suggested that I "be fruitful and multiply". I'll take that blessing to heart even if those are not exactly the words you used in your e-mail. |
