eReader adds RSS Feeds - Nice<< Please make me apologize... The FCC as Marketing Partner | Main | Weblog usage >> Michael Gartenberg | November 19, 2004, 09:41 AM The folks at eReader have added an RSS feed so you can see all the new releases each week. They also include a link to add the book directly to your shopping cart. Excellent use of RSS. I'm a big fan of these folks (disclosure: I used to work for the VC firm that funded them in the late 90's but I have no personal stake in them, other than the fact I like eBooks). They use DRM in simple manner that gives me the flexibility to use multiple devices as I see fit but discourages me strongly from passing those books along to others (the unlock code for each book is the credit card number that paid for the book). They support all major platforms including Palm, PocketPC, Windows and Mac OS. Reading one of their titles on a VGA Pocket PC or a Tablet is a great experience and of course there's no need to lug paper around or keep a light on when reading in bed. Now with RSS I can browse new titles simply and easily, very nice evolution |
