JupiterResearch - Poll We've been doing some quick polling on our website about weblog usage. Some very interesting numbers. The quick question was "How do you use Weblogs?" Here are the responses as of today.

I write a personal Weblog (14%)
I write a personal Weblog but write about my business with my employer's consent (5%)
I write a personal Weblog but write about my business without my employer's consent (0%)
I write a business Weblog as part of my job (0%)
I do not write a Weblog but I read other people's Weblogs (45%)
I do not write a Weblog and I don't read other people's Weblogs (36%)

Of course, I need to add the standard disclaimer about this type of poll. This vote is not scientific and reflects the opinions of only those users who have chosen to participate. The results cannot be assumed to represent the opinions of users in general, nor the public as a whole. We are not responsible for the opinions expressed via this poll.

There are some interesting data points though that seem to be emerging. There are still more readers than writers (which isn't shocking since most people consume content rather than create it, hence the term, "consumer".) There are also quite a few folks doing business weblogs out there as well. We'll be publishing some more official numbers shortly about who's reading and who's writing
