This is the time of year when we'd usually read the stories and poor analysis about about Apple's imminent demise. My personal favorite was a BusinessWeek issue, with the Apple logo on a tombstone as the cover. After a tough 1995, the headlines we're screaming about "the fall of an american icon".  Apple's Apple Computer, once the hip flagbearer of high tech, is in sad decline

What a difference a few years makes... and a marketing strategy... and leadership... and cool products that lead the market.  Note to the naysayers, Apple is not going out of business next year either (although a lot of folks are hemming and hawing old predictions)

Quite the contrary, they're both hip and flagbearing again.
