Lots of turmoil it would seem at HP as Carly leaves "to pursue other interests". (I just love that phrase :)) Except that this was not that subtle. No transition period, more like "don't let the door hit you on the way out please".

Big issue is will HP stay intact. We know Carly was pushing to keep HP together and it looks as if that might have been the catalyst here. It will also be interesting whether HP will still pursue the CE based initiatives that it began chasing in 2004 going after the Digital Home. These were also strongly driven by Carly. Right now the company has a lot of different directions it can head in. The new leadership is going to have the get their game plan together quickly and articulate it clearly if they don't want chaos to rein.

Carly Fiorina ends reign as CEO and chairman. CFO Robert Wayman takes over as interim chief executive.
