Smart of Sir Richard to close this down sooner as opposed to later and keep pouring money into a losing proposition. The idea wasn't totally wrong. MP3 players are hot and the unit they picked from their ODM wasn't a bad device at all. If it weren't for that pesky iPod thing, these folks might have been able to find some way to leverage the brand. As long as vendors keep letting Apple set all the rules, you'll see more stories like this. Hint, it's not about features anymore or folks wouldn't be waiting for a month to get an MP3 player without a screen or an FM tuner or the like. Sony, are you listening?
