RSS Venture Fund... interesting<< GO sues Microsoft... just a little late | Main | Plays for (almost) sure >> Michael Gartenberg | July 05, 2005, 05:18 PM John Palfrey and Jim Moore from the Berkman center at Harvard are starting a 100m venture fund focused on RSS. There's a certain logic to this as evidenced by Jim Moore's prior investment in WebMethods on the basis of what they did with XML as an XML investment. (The former VC firm where I worked was also an early WebMethods investor under similar logic). 100m in RSS is a large number but the rule of venture capital is that you don't need a lot of hits to cover your losses and still do very very well. I do know where I'd put some of that money and I think there are some real opportunities here for the first movers to get in. I'm talking to these folks tomorrow so I should have a better understanding of the game plan afterward. |
