MacMini with FrontRow and DVR coming?<< A leak is still a leak | Main | When the Jazzman's testifying, a faithless man believes >> Michael Gartenberg | November 29, 2005, 11:10 AM Think Secret is reporting that Apple is preparing to introduce a new version of the Mac Mini as a FrontRow 2.0 device, running Intel hardware with DVR integration and built in iPod dock. Think of the possibilites. Add in a remote control and video enabled airport express to get the content on other screens in your home. Recording TV shows and syncing directly to the iPod. So many possibilities and more than a few reasons to argue why this isn't something Apple would really introduce. While I won't comment on how likely this rumor is, I will comment that if Apple does introduce this machine in January, it will be a huge success. This is exactly the type of medai hub that could gain the acceptance of the mass market. It's interesting to speculate how the press would cover the introduction of a machine like this. I suspect they would totally igonre the MCE story that's been on the market for all these years. |
