The new Windows Mobile based Treo is on sale at Verizon. Big news for MSFT and Palm that they were able to get this out in a timely manner. Lots of interesting tweaks on the device courtesy of Palm. Some like contact lookup and picture dialing are nice, some like video caller ID seem more clever than practical. Interesting that the default search from the homepage takes you to Google. Now that there's an EV-DO device it looks like the new Treo is still king of the smartphone hill and at the moment, it's best implementation of Windows Mobile 5 that I have seen. (this will get more interesting when the Q ships later this year). I should have a unit later on today, look for a full review soon. |
