No Need to Read Between the Lines<< Surviving CES | Main | A Tale of Two Keynotes >> Michael Gartenberg | January 05, 2007, 01:50 PM Robert Scoble reads between the lines of my last post. Oh, there's plenty going on at CES, just a lot of it won't be public :) But even on the show floor, there's going to be some pretty cool stuff announced but if you look at this year vs. past years, it's more evolution than revolution but that's not bad. What's interesting is that this is the 40th CES. Think back to what was going on in 1967. There were really two products, TV and Radio and color TV was still a pretty big thing. Think of where we are today and keep that in mind when you're walking the floor next week. It's good that a lot of technologies introduced are maturing to the point of mass market... remember when HD was first shown at CES? I think that was 1998 :) As for what Apple announces, no gestures here. We'll just have to wait and see what gets announced and what doesn't and how the market reacts. And remember, Apple has gotten away from Macworld as a springboard for new stuff. In years past, they have made new product announcements within weeks of Macworld... |
