Apple has been publicly target in the past over some of these issues and I've often felt that had a lot do with their visibility in the market place. Nice to see the company responding responsibly to these issues and Apple seems to be doing quite a lot here to be eco-friendly. Of interesting note, there's a hint of some new stuff to come in 2007. "We plan to introduce our first Macs with LED backlight technology in 2007. Our ability to completely eliminate fluorescent lamps in all of our displays depends on how fast the LCD industry can transition to LED backlighting for larger displays."Wonder what products we might see coming with the new technology? New laptops perhaps? Some other device? |
