I have not been a huge fan of twitter, but last night I had the chance to see Dave Winer demo his new twittergram application. What is a twittergram, Dave says to think of it as podcast but smaller as Dave says, "Always a quickie, guaranteed to be 200K or less. A bite-size podcast."

This is much more interesting IMHO than twitter alone is. For one thing, the size and the format means that it's a perfect fit for mobile use, especially since most phones today can listen easily to a downloaded or streamed file of that size and quite a few have the means to record them as well. The small size means that folks are forced to think in terms of a single, expressive thought. That means no long, rambling podcasts that most folks don't have the time to listen to.

I suspect there's more to this story coming in the near future but in the meantime this is way cool stuff and it's time for me take another look at Twitter a little more closely.
