To start stuff rolling, Apple introduced ringtones for the iPhone. Songs purchased from iTunes music store can be made into a ringtone, at a cost of .99. About a million songs will be available when the feature goes live next week. Once you pick a song, you get a really cool editor in iTunes that lets you set up the part of the song you want as the ringtone and a click to purchase button. Overall, it's simple, easy and relatively cheap (for those that don't want to hack their iPhones).

What's interesting is that again, there's no carrier involvement here. Everything goes through Apple and iTunes. Another good reminder that the iPhone is an Apple story first and foremost and amazing that AT&T isn't in control of this experience.
