RIP - Walmart Download Video Store

This just in, Walmart is getting out of the downloadable video business. Of course, most of you missed when they got in. So joining the likes of MSN music, Sony Connect, Virgin's Music store another player is out of the game.

No surprise here and as expected, as I said back then

"Unless there's a way for consumers to connect these movies to their TV sets or their iPod, Wal-Mart has its work cut out for them."

You've heard me on this before, as long as there's DRM content (and video content shows no signs of going DRM free, for better or worse), devices will continue to drive users to the stores, not the other way around and the only device that matters to most consumers at this point remains the iPod and the iTunes eco-system.

Oh and this guy's still dead as well.
