Orange is doing an excellent job at promoting its commercial offering around the Rugby World Cup. See this brochure and the dedicated website available at http://www.orangerugby.fr/. Beyond the brand image benefits, I wonder how many new subs they will acquire and how many users will keep their Orange Mobile Sport option (9 euros per month, but 1st 2 months are offered). Rugby is less popular than football but it is definitely gaining traction. The excellent Orange TV ad with Zidane will probably help a lot. Chabal as well:-) Anyway, some of my UK colleagues will probably watch their national team against South Africa. Should be an interesting match tonight. I will personally wait until Sunday for France-Namibia after the disaster against the Argentinian Pumas...Hopefully for him, Laporte (the French selector and team manager) will do a better job particularly against Ireland if he wants to become Sarkozy's Minister of Sport... Anyway, allez les petits ! |
