(Omni+Voda)FONE<< 1st European deal for MEDIO | Main | The shareholders' valse >> Thomas Husson | September 10, 2007, 10:34 AM I said last June that I would keep you updated on Omnifone's NEW announcement. Last time, I was a bit cynical. I could have been even more so but Michael Bornhaeusser from SDC did the job for me when saying last July to Mobile Entertainement: "Having the best music service award dedicated to Omnifone is a scandal in my opinion. It is not fair to give an award (the MEFFY) to a service that hadn't been launched and has never sold a single track. An award should be given to something a company has achieved and not to something a company is promising." Well, at least, out of the promised 30 deals, here's one significant announced: Vodafone UK is to launch The MusicStation service, which offers access to a million tracks for £1.99 a week. It will be made available via the Vodafone live! portal in the run-up to Christmas. Not sure yet how it fits with Vodafone own music offering powered by Musiwave. I'll ask for a briefing and will keep you posted again. |
