1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Screen?

There are various definitions of mobile phones in the context of mobile advertising:

- according to SFR, it is the 1st screen ("Premier Ecran" is the name of the newly created ad sales network from French mobile operator). The first screen you see in the morning (using the alarm clock functionality or checking your voicemail) and that you always carry with you (with keys and wallets as he said in virtually all conferences...)

- 2nd screen: any candidate? Not yet to my knowledge

- more commonly, it is defined as the 3rd Screen (that is the terminology we use at Jupiter when we are too lazy to explicity refer to mobile marketing or mobile video/TV), after TV and then PC. See company 3rd Screen Media recently acquired by AOL

- some players (such as Nokia) not to mention 4th Screen Advertising (a UK mobile advertising agency) refer to it as the 4th Screen, taking Movie / Theatre screen into account:
