No worries, I am not starting here a new blog as a movie critic. back to mobile in the next post. Just came across the astounishing stats below while having a look at Metro and found them quite interesting:

Top 10 movies in France in 2006:

1- RATATOUILLE (7,7M) - US
2- ARTHUR AND THE MINIMOYS (6,4M) - FRANCE
3- SPIDER-MAN 3 (6,3M) - US
4- HARRY POTTER 5 (6,1M) - US
5- PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3 (5,7M) - US
6- SHREK 3 (5,5M) - US
7- LA MOME (5,2M) - FRANCE
8- TAXI 4 (4,5M) - FRANCE
9- SIMPSONS (3,5M) - US
10- ERAGON (2,8M) - US

When you know that Taxi 4 and Arthur & the Minimoys were produced / realized by Luc Besson, sounds like Hollywood's approach still quite healthy

If you look at the Top 50, all movies are either French or US. Only one is non US or non French: German's "Life of Others" ranks 22nd.

3 other French films performed well (Ensemble, c'est tout (> 2M), Coeur des hommes 2 (1,8M), un secret (1,6M)

Numbers speak for themselves. Don't they?
