Boingo Simplifies Life for Business TravelersMain | Nokia and EarthLink Partner for Muni Wi-Fi >> Ina Sebastian | July 03, 2007, 02:47 PM Public Wi-Fi provider Boingo recently announced the introduction of a worldwide flat rate plan for business travelers. Flat rate plans are a good idea in the US as well - considering competition from ubiquitous 3G offers. Public Wi-Fi providers are in a good position. The majority of business travelers do not need frequent access to the corporate network. About half of frequent business travelers check e-mail several times a day and often use hotels. Wi-Fi is the most popular means of accessing email while on the road. Seventy-three percent of frequent business travelers used Wi-Fi with their laptops to check e-mail and connect to the corporate network in 2006. Use of free hotspots however is common as well.
