News Corp is trying to stem the MySpace kids safety backlash by featuring 24's Jack Bauer in a new PSA informing parents that "To protect [kids] you don't need the latest state-of-the-art technology. You just need a few simple tips: Don't let them run into trouble on the Internet - use common sense."

Where Gawker went with Kiefer Sutherland's personal foibles as a reason this seems funny, I'll point out how amazingly badly Jack Bauer's done over the seasons keeping his own (admittedly hugely annoying) kid safe...should parents exactly be taking his advice?
