Yahoo's got some good news for display<< "Nobody's Watching" on YouTube | Main | Touchy feely can equal big bucks >> Emily Riley | July 19, 2006, 09:19 PM So while everyone was commenting on Yahoo's dismal earnings call (which was nicely summarized by our own David Card) I'm going to pick out the silver lining: Safa Rashtchy thinks that display grew at 36 percent from last quarter. This is most likely because Mr. Semel was so excited by the display growth of their "top 200 advertisers." He placed that growth in the high thirties as well. How cool that everyone is so focused on the search wars right now, but Yahoo is really leading the pack as a big content provider and display advertiser. The Big 200 sounds exciting, too. I don't think any other online company has the luxury of being acquainted with all of them. On the display front, Yahoo is unique in that they are huge, but yet their name is comforting to brand conscious advertisers. Most huge properties are still a little scary to many ( i.e. MySpace.) ....Unless you believe in cable. |
