Maybe it only matters to insiders, but why do folks keep calling us an IT research firm, and talk about our merger with Kagan as IT research consolidation?

Paul Kedrosky has a good blog, but the wrong take on us.

Even as our "big" integration planning discussions proceed, there are several "small" integration activities that are spontaneously springing up. For example, this is the time of year we usually update our DTV projections. Andrew Peach, head of our data team, is working with the Kagan folks who do their DTV projects to compare methodologies. We'll use this effort as a micro case study to guide the integration of the range of our forecasts over time.
