[] The don't like it when my writing has "negatives" but not enough "positives." "OK, Jupiter is not an IT research firm. But you should say what you are," they admonished. Fair point. What are we? JupiterResearch is focused on media, the Internet and emerging consumer technologies. Our audience is business execs. Our stock in trade is proprietary data, competitive analysis, profiling consumer behavior, understanding trends. We help online businesses make critical decisions about technology selection, spending, staffing, and Web site effectiveness; we advise consumer-facing companies Kagan Research is focused on media and telecommunications. Our (we're all part of the same company now) audience at Kagan is business execs at media and telco operating companies, investors and bankers who invest in and lend to those companies. Kagan's stock in trade is proprietary data, competitive analysis and economic and valuation analysis of those industries. We have some great opportunities to combine Jupiter-style analysis with Kagan-style analysis in a highly complementary, valuable intelligence service that will be indispensible to companies from across the sectors that both divisions cover. Stay tuned to hear about what we have cooking. |
