iTunes Addict Confesses

This weekend, my iTunes Music Store purchases topped 150 songs (seven full albums along with singles). Apple certainly has done everything possible to make purchases fast, simple and, well, addictive. The buck a song sure beats file trading, or so people who do that kind of thing tell me. :)

I also am experimenting with Pressplay and Rhapsody, two services that have their place, too. Rhapsody's 79 cents a song is cheaper than the iTunes Music Store, that is, if you ignore the subscription price for streaming. But so far, I prefer iTunes' convenience. Then again, I might save more time with one of the other services. Pressplay, for example, lets me download songs to the hard drive and play them on my PC as long as I pay up my monthly subscription.

But, I rarely take advantage of this capability. I have to, gulp, admit that I'm kinda addicted to this iTunes Music Store thing. Is it a new disorder? You betcha. And one I highly recommend catching, if you can afford. On the other hand, there are many songs in my 1,500 song collection that I rarely listen to. So if I had any sense, and I am getting some, I would make more use out of Pressplay's or Rhapsody's all you eat subscription services.
