National Small Business Week<< Where Macs Remain | Main | TigerDirect Roars Over "Tiger" >> Yesterday, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce kicked off National Small Business Week. I guess that Sunday is the beginning of the work week for small businesses. Festivities include the SBA Expo `05, taking place here in Washington this week. I hope to attend at least one day of the event (heck, the president will speak on one of the days). Vendor's aren't wasting any time using the week to reach out to small businesses. Microsoft's small business group has penned a security guide available from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce security information Website. Microsoft has seized initiative that I would encourage other vendors to follow. That said, according to a recent JupiterResearch survey, local chambers of commerce are not the major resource businesses with 250 employees typically consult for making either technology or non-technology purchases. A future SMB Marketing service report will explore sources that influence small business purchase decisions. |
