From the Campfire to the Rave
I’ve been on the road for the last two weeks attending what could be considered the pinnacle of the Web analytics universe. Coremetrics kicked off in Fort Worth Texas and then most recently Omniture held its client summit in Salt Lake City. The Coremetrics client summit was a full cowboy...( more )

Cynical Observations of the Month
I've been waiting all day for someone to comment on the NY Times wooo-scary ad-targeting-privacy story. (Regular readers know I'm a proponent of Scott McNealy's theory of privacy.) After reading several hundred words penned by the author herself, explaining why the methodology probably doesn't work, I'm still left with these...( more )

Allez Cuisine!
Of course, if you're a fan of Iron Chef, than the title of this post makes perfect sense. Less so the idea of turning the show into a game for the Wii? What's next? Martha Stewart for the XBOX?...( more )

Into Thin Air
Funny story from Steven Levy (although not so funny from Steven's point of view I guess) on how he lost his MacBook Air. I've misplaced mine once as well under a newspaper......( more )

Bezeq does Asus eepc
Very cool, Bezeq, the Israeli telecom (that once was a government owned and now privatized) is offering an Asus EEEPC to customers as an upsell for service options for just a few Sheqel a month. It's the Windows version (and there's a fun story as to why it runs Windows...( more )

Visiting Modu
Had a chance to spend some time hands on with the new Modu as well meet with Dov Moran and his team. Most impressive. If they can meet the Oct ship target, there's some real potential for this thing to be huge. ...( more )

iPhone apps
Articles about the iPhone last month were mainly focusing on the 4M sales mark and the smuggling happening in some part of the world. Such a phenomenon can be explained by a couple of elements: the fact that the $ is at its weakest, that beyond o2 Ireland no new...( more )

No "Wire" spoilers here
I'm not going to tell you how "The Wire" -- arguably the best TV show ever -- ends. Not till next year: I'm watching it on DVD via Netflix. I think it's the best way to follow such a densely-layered, character-driven show. I'm using Netflix to follow a number of...( more )

Whoops
Had a really cool device to tell you about that showed up while I was away... it's taken awhile to get here but worth the wait. Unfortunately, I just noticed there's still an embargo in effect on it so i'll have to wait a bit before i can tell you...( more )

Back in NY
Took almost eighteen hours but finally back in NY, albeit somewhat jetlagged. Lots of cool stuff to talk about over the next few days but lots of catch up to do as well....( more )

Continuing Measurement Debate: Efficiency vs. Quality
Good piece in ClickZ. I'm with Jeff Einstein; Eric Picard from Microsoft is obsessing over technical details, sometimes at the expense of missing the main point. Einstein says: We've been obsessed with our own ability to measure performance (regardless of the metric) since day one online. Our obsession with efficiency...( more )
